LEEANN NIXON
LeeAnn Nixon boasts a 13-year career in economic development, including roles at Surry County Economic Development and Cabarrus Economic Development. Her journey spans vice president of existing business services and existing industry project manager, culminating in her current role as the president of Wilkes Economic Development. Holding a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Project Management from Liberty University, she brings former Realtor experience and a North Carolina Real Estate Broker’s license to her development work. With a history of nurturing businesses, LeeAnn’s focus now centers on providing support to local government, fostering existing businesses, and driving new investments through strategic partnerships across North Carolina.
Robin Hamby
Robin Hamby entered Economic Development in 2001 following the closure of the textile business where she had worked for nine years, fueling her passion to enhance opportunities and job security in Wilkes County. Serving as the Vice President and CFO of Wilkes EDC, Robin excels in financial reporting and played a pivotal role in successful Small Business Growth initiatives. Her contributions extend to the Wilkes EDC Entrepreneurial Grant and Revolving Loan Programs, aiding local businesses. Robin’s extensive experience, local relationships, and regional insight greatly enrich the EDC’s capabilities.
With a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Appalachian State University, a Certified Administrative Professional Certificate from Wilkes Community College, and certifications in Real Estate Commercial Property Management, Robin’s expertise is unmatched. A graduate of the Wilkes Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program, she’s also a Notary Public and Certified Paralegal.
Francisco Martinez
Francisco Martinez joined Wilkes EDC in August 2022 as the Marketing Manager and is on track to become a Certified Economic Developer in North Carolina. Francisco graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Graphic Design. He worked for four years as the Graphic Design Specialist for the Marketing and Communications department at Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. He’s worked with several small businesses in Winston-Salem, Charlotte, and Wilkes County in designing and marketing their company. This background supports his enthusiasm for business support through EDC programs such as the Entrepreneurial Grant program. He also enjoys engaging with community events and activities and promoting Wilkes County overall.
Paula McNeil
Paula McNeil is the office administrator for the Wilkes EDC. She handles day-to-day operational tasks to ensure the organization runs smoothly. She offers a warm and friendly smile to all those who visit the office each day.
