Wilkes Economic Development Corporation receives funding from both Public and Private sources. This funding helps us carry out our mission of facilitating the creation of new jobs and capital investment in Wilkes County, North Carolina through the retention and expansion of existing businesses and the recruitment of new businesses. Current investors are asked to designate their contributions to one of the following areas: Operations, Entrepreneurial Grant Program, Marketing/Real Estate Development/Company Assistance, or the LEAPForward Program.

LOCAL EXPANSION & ATTRACTION PROGRAM (LEAP)

The Local Expansion & Attraction Program – LEAP – is a public/private funding initiative to grow the Wilkes County economy and provide a bright future for our citizens and the surrounding areas.

The Original LEAP Campaign funds are utilized for:

• Direct Company Assistance
• Real Estate Development
• Marketing Related to Project Activity

LEAP Campaign Contributors post 2016 can designate the use of funds into three areas: 

• Operations
• Entrepreneurship Program
• Original Items Listed Above
