The Wilkes EDC  helped secure funding for a new Town of North Wilkesboro water tank, which Jeld-Wen needs for increased water pressure for a sprinkler system for an expansion. The town was recently awarded a $580,000 grant by the state and another $420,000 from the Golden LEAF Foundation is expected for the water tank. The EDC helped Jeld-Wen add a 75,000-square-foot warehouse as the company lost space when it added manufacturing equipment. Wilkes EDC President LeeAnn Nixon and Vice President Robin Hamby have helped the plant in numerous ways, including things like helping find someone to clear the snow off the plant’s entrance road. - Jeff Mang, Plant Manager

Infusion PointsInfusionPoints, is a CyberSecurity company located in Wilkes County, North Carolina. We initially located our Technology Company here because it was close to family. We quickly learned we had access to as much bandwidth we could use through Wilkes Communications fiber optics network and to a highly educated workforce through Wilkes Community College and Appalachian State University. We have experienced high growth over the past few years and have had little trouble attracting and retaining employees. We stayed because of the community and the work/life balance. - Gary Daemer
