On March 3, theWilkes Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting for Provalus at 711 Main Street, celebrating the company’s continued growth and investment in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. In attendance was local government officials, resource partners, Provalus leadership and its new employees, and community members to recognize the company’s expanding presence in downtown.
Provalus first announced plans to locate in North Wilkesboro in 2024, committing to create 150 jobs as part of an economic incentive agreement with the Town of North Wilkesboro. The Wilkes Economic Development Corporation supported the company during its decision to locate in Wilkes County and continues to assist by managing the state grant associated with the project. The project was made possible through collaboration between the Town of North Wilkesboro and Wilkes County, which partnered to support the redevelopment and use of the downtown building.
Today, Provalus employs 115 people locally, with company leaders projecting the workforce will reach 150 employees by the end of 2026, three years ahead of the original agreement timeline. The company provides technology and business process services, creating opportunities for residents to build careers in fields such as IT support, network operations, and cybersecurity.
Provalus leaders emphasized their mission of bringing technology careers to rural communities, helping residents find meaningful work close to home while strengthening the local workforce.
