Retail Solutions Group, Inc. Celebrates Expansion

June 26, 2025

North Wilkesboro, NC — Retail Solutions Group, Inc. (RSG) is a Wilkes County-based company that was established in 2011 as NRS Logistics, Inc. Two of the co-founders are Gary Foster and Randy Whittington. RSG is a multi-layered company with three divisions; the Steel Recovery Center, the Field Service Teams, and RSG’s warehousing and logistics division. RSG currently operates five warehouses in Wilkes County where their continued success is creating the need for additional warehouse space.

The Steel Recovery Center (SRC) is in its 5th year of a contractual agreement with a Fortune 50 company. SRC handles all the client’s excess steel from its retail stores which will continue for many years to come. Additionally, the division continues to sign contracts daily with large retailers across the country. The steel is processed, stored, and shipped from their center to stores on an as-needed basis per request by their customers. The Field Service Team specialty includes helping several national retail companies with store merchandising, structural installations, carpentry installations, and store resets. RSG’s warehousing and logistics division provides services for companies who need products warehoused or processed through their logistic facilities. They also handle all customer transportation needs.

During the last four years, RSG has grown from less than eight employees to over 200 nationwide. Presently RSG has 30 employees in Wilkes County, with plans to add at least 10 more jobs in the coming year. This growth is an opportunity for the Town of North Wilkesboro to sell 10.44 acres at market rate in the Wilkes Industrial Park to RSG where the company can construct a 25,000 to 30,000 square foot warehouse.

“After starting in 2011 with only one warehouse, we now have five large warehouses in North Wilkesboro and Wilkesboro, NC. Our total warehousing space totals over 150,000 square feet with high-level density storage racking and flex spaces available for temporary projects,” said Randy Whittington, President of RSG. “It is exciting to be part of a company that started with a few people and a vision, then to see it mature into a large successful corporation.”

“We are blessed to have this opportunity to help the community, our employees, and our families. We are truly grateful to our customers that trust us to be a provider of our services to them,” said Gary Foster,  of RSG Chief Operating Officer.

RSG has always strived to provide the utmost in customer service. They go the extra mile to provide quality customer service and support. Whether driving a box truck overnight on a last-minute delivery or working through the holidays, they ensure customer needs are met. Whittington says the company prides itself on integrity, loyalty, customer service, and honesty. Their reputation far exceeds the desire for profits and revenue. They dedicate themselves to faith, families, and community. One of their largest endeavors is to be very active with other companies in the area and to continue being resourceful to their community. They are one of the main sponsors of FaithFest and are very proud of that association, which they have been involved with for many years. They work closely with many other local non-profits and were very active in providing assistance to many in Western North Carolina that were affected by Hurricane Helene.

After a public hearing and vote on June 26, 2025, the Town of North Wilkesboro is offering the sale of the land at market value with a five-year, eighty percent incentive agreement due to RSG’s economic investment and job creation. Wilkes County Government also held a public hearing on June 17, 2025, and will consider offering a similar incentive package to the company at their meeting on July 1, 2025.

North Wilkesboro Mayor, Marc Hauser, expressed, “We are proud to welcome Retail Solutions Group to the North Wilkesboro Industrial Park. Their presence strengthens the continued growth of our business community and reflects the increasing interest in our industrial park as a prime location for expansion. We wish them continued success both today and in the years to come.”

LeeAnn Nixon, President of Wilkes EDC, stated, “We are honored that RSG chose to expand locally when needing to build more warehouse space. Their experience and leadership’s values, combined with a Wilkes’ entrepreneurial spirit, continues to positively impact our citizens and the economy in this community.”

RSG continually seeks to bring on individuals who desire to become part of an upcoming and growing corporation that values the team as an integral part of the organization.
