Wilkes EDC is proud to enter its 30th year of service to Wilkes County. Founded in 1996 as a 501(c)(6) organization and later transitioning to a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Wilkes EDC has remained committed to driving growth and opportunity in our community.
Our mission is: Through the retention and expansion of existing businesses, recruitment of new businesses, marketing, and real estate development, Wilkes EDC will facilitate the creation of new jobs and capital investment in Wilkes County.
Tracking back 20 years, our impact shows the creation of 2,444 jobs and $254,592,757 in capital investment. These results reflect the combined efforts of our board, staff, investors, partners, and community, all working together to strengthen the local economy and position Wilkes County for the future.
