On February 27, Wilkes EDC President LeeAnn Nixon and Business Development Director David Icenhour conducted a Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) visit and tour with Airport Manager Dustin Caudill at the Wilkes County Airport (WCA).
Did You Know?
· The runway at WCA is 6,200 feet in length with plans in place to increase the length to 7,000 feet.
· Facility expansion plans include a new 3,500 square foot terminal and the addition of new hangars.
· Entities operating from the airport include Samaritan’s Purse, Window World, Vannoy Construction, American Aviation, and AirCare.
· There are approximately 23 private and public employees on-site.
· There are 41 aircraft based at the airport, and about 20 flights occur daily.
