On July 23, 2025, the Wilkes Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors gathered at Raffaldini Vineyards & Winery in Wilkes County for their annual planning and retreat session. The day provided an opportunity to reflect on progress from the 2024–25 Action Plan while discussing priorities for the year ahead.
The session was facilitated by Crystal Morphis, founder of Creative Economic Development Consulting, with guidance and support from Wilkes EDC President LeeAnn Nixon and Vice President Robin Hamby. Board members, along with ex-officios and alternates, worked together to review Wilkes EDC’s vision and mission statements, discuss resources for implementation, prioritize strategies for the upcoming year, and strengthen internal communication efforts. The group also considered the role and responsibilities of board members as they continue advancing economic development opportunities in Wilkes County.
We thank Raffaldini Vineyards & Winery for being such a gracious host. Their team went above and beyond to accommodate our members and provided the coffee that kept the conversations flowing. Breakfast and lunch were provided by Little Heaven Café, which made for a delicious addition to a productive day.
